Secretaries Announce Release of Third "Productivity Investment Fund" RFI
~ Fund Designed to Improve Efficiency in Government ~
RICHMOND - Secretaries Viola Baskerville, Aneesh Chopra, and Jody Wagner today announced the release of the third Request for Information (“RFI”) calling on state agencies, private sector firms, academic leaders, and citizens to bring forward proposals that could be eligible for the third round of awards from the Productivity Investment Fund. Recipients of the funding will be limited to state agencies, but public-private partnerships are encouraged.
“We have started to see good results from the first and second rounds of the Productivity Fund and are excited to continue and expand that success going forward,” said Secretary Chopra. “The Governor remains committed to improving productivity in government operations and this fund is one of the key vehicles for achieving that goal.”
The Fund provides seed money to state agencies to lower operating costs, reduce constituent service transaction times, and advance key performance goals as published on the Virginia Performs website (www.VAperforms.virginia.gov). Funded projects from the first and second rounds include projects to decrease costs by digitizing check transportation and implementing a free web-based claims tool for Medicaid providers.
For information on Virginia’s requirements, and a guide for filing a response, please review the fund information available at www.pif.virginia.gov. Interested parties are required to submit responses by June 13th, 2008.
Decisions on funding will be made by a three person panel consisting of the Secretaries of Finance, Administration, and Technology.# # #
